Perched high up on the hillside overlooking the Pacific Ocean, sits Driftwood, a striking contemporary beach house that fits in harmoniously with its surrounding environment.
Designed in collaboration with building designer Jim O’Brien from VIEW/THRU the home has a focus on sustainable, quality materials. Every detail has been carefully curated to ensure a timeless and lasting result for the family that live here.
The client’s brief was to create a relaxed home evoking a feeling of warmth, whilst being functional for a family.
Taking cues from surrounding sandstone clifftops and the breathtaking ocean views CPD layered texture and materiality with a focus on handmade materials wherever possible, the result is a design of considered simplicity that will only get better with age.
